Olivier's story

Olivier grew up watching his father race in karting and was hooked instantly. Olivier had the perfect environment to develop his skills as a racing driver when his father started a karting school and a karting team. Bédard started racing in 2006 at the tender age of 9. In his karting career, Olivier competed against the best drivers in Canada, some who are now racing in Formula 1, formula 2, Indycar, Imsa continental tire sportscar challenge, etc.

At the age of 16, Olivier moved to open-wheel racing in formula 1600. After buying a used car, the father and son duo attempted to show their potential against all the powerhouses. After many promising results, Olivier got hired by a newly formed team with a stellar pedigree for the following year. He showed his championship-winning capacities early in the season, scoring his first victory at the second event. He went on to finish runner-up with nine podiums, two wins and no races outside the top 5.

In 2015, running out of option and budget to participate in any open wheel championship, Olivier decided to form his team and compete in the Nissan Micra Cup, a single-make touring series. He clinched the title with five victories and eight podiums in 12 rounds. for the following two years, Olivier raced in the Albi Nissan/Total canada team where he finished runner-up, then champion again in the Nissan Micra cup.

Olivier's record in the Nissan Micra championship shows the value and quality of the kind of driver he is. Statistically speaking, during 44 races, he finished on the podium 35 times and completed 43 races. His longest podium finishes strike is 14 races in a row.

for 2018, The 21 years old Canadian is still racing in the Nissan Micra Cup Championship with a new outfit; SolidXperts Racing team. His sight is set on the title once again.

After making his NASCAR pinty's debut in 2015 at the canadian tire motorsport park, He then shared the wheel of the #18 car in the highly competitive american canadian tour series (ACT), a stock-car championship.

His long-term plan is to be a professional race car driver, either for a manufacturer or an established racing team. His diversified racing background and success makes him one of the most versatile Canadian race car driver.
